We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Catherine Parker to the Blacksmith Freight team.
Catherine brings with her an incredible 36 years of experience in the ever-evolving world of freight, logistics and supply chain. She’s seen it all – from the days when email was a brand-new concept (and shared across a single group inbox!) to today’s fast-paced, globally connected industry. If there’s one thing Catherine knows, it’s that freight never stands still.
Her love affair with logistics began in the early days of importing from Taiwan and later China, and over the decades her expertise has stretched across continents. Air freight, ocean freight, imports, exports – Catherine has navigated them all. She’s even spent time in warehousing and fulfilment, giving her a true end-to-end understanding of the supply chain.
Born in Manchester and raised in Milton Keynes, Catherine made the excellent decision to return to Manchester in 1989 — firmly believing it to be the best city in the world (we’re not here to argue!). Family is at the heart of everything she does. She’s married to the lovely Mr Andrew Parker and is a proud mum to two sons, Louis and Joseph, along with Tinkerbell — a Yorkie-Chihuahua cross who may look adorable, but definitely likes to keep strangers on their toes.
When she’s not keeping freight moving across the globe, Catherine is lacing up her trainers. A passionate runner, she’s part of Made Running — a fun, sociable and supportive run club she describes as “family”. That sense of community and energy is something she brings with her wherever she goes.
Catherine’s depth of knowledge, global experience and genuine passion for the industry make her a fantastic addition to the Blacksmith Freight family. We’re excited for the journey ahead. Welcome aboard, Catherine!
