We are pleased to announce the appointment of Brendan Healey as International Business Development Manager, bringing 25 years of logistics expertise to strengthen our global freight services.
Based in the London Heathrow office, Brendan will focus on expanding our international partnerships and developing client relationships worldwide. His extensive background spans exports, imports, bulk shipping, containerised cargo, and specialised project logistics for events.
Originally from South Africa, Brendan began his career at RenFreight Circle (later acquired by Safcor Panalpina), where he specialised in manganese ore transportation from railways to bulk shipping vessels and containerised cargo.
After relocating to the UK in 2003, he broadened his expertise to include ocean and air freight exports before expanding into imports. His career highlights include roles as Imports Supervisor at Italian freight forwarder Savino Del Bene and as Trade Development Manager at MartinTrux, where he developed business with agents worldwide.
Brendan also brings specialised experience in project logistics for event management, having coordinated equipment transportation for rock bands and exhibitions for the British Council.
Brendan will be representing the company at the upcoming GLA Conference in Dubai next week, where he looks forward to connecting with other freight operators.
“I’m excited to join the Blacksmith Freight team and contribute to their growing international presence,” said Brendan. “I look forward to leveraging my experience across exports and imports to develop new opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.”
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Roger Black comments: “Brendan’s appointment significantly strengthens our global freight service capabilities from our London Heathrow hub. His wealth of experience across multiple shipping sectors and international markets will be invaluable as we continue to expand our global footprint.”
